An illustration I had to do as an assignment. We were given two poems and were asked to make an illustration with it. It's aimed at 5 to 6 year old children. For this one I used my lovely oil pastel crayons on cardboard.
The poem is by Mieke van Hooft and here is a direct translation: "A coat of fur
Cat Soes has a coat of white and red fur. Cat Soes is my pillow very warm en very round. A pillow of hair that snores and that hums. Cat Soes is my darling who purrs and who growls."
(was having trouble with the last part, and I bet the words I used are totally wrong XD )
Ah, growling could be possible. I tried looking the original word up in an online translation program, but all it gave me was 'snore', which I already used of course. I'll go edit the text now, thanks!
And yes, everyone should draw with their oil pastels!

Sunshine in the glory skies When the broken men open up their eyes
I think it's something you need to get used to. I didn't like it at first either, but after some experimenting with them, I fell completely in love with them (even though they're difficult to work with cause they're so thick). X3
And yay for giving you the urge to use them!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
